SEC Championship

Tide Fans –

There are no words to describe how I feel today. I am sore, I have no voice, I am tired and slightly hung over, but I am grinning ear to ear! No lack of sleep, dehydration, or complete exhaustion is going to ruin this day for me, because The Tide is number 1, we are SEC Champs, and we are heading to Pasadena for the National Championship!!! Yes, my friends everything is just fine! Oh, and did I mention that we just crushed Tebow and his Gaytors to get where we are? It could not have been scripted any better. I have waited for this day since I walked out of the Georgia Dome last December. Alabama (and I) made a vow to return and extract revenge from Florida, and how sweet it was!

What an absolute dominating performance we put on last night – truly incredible! The Tide could do no wrong, as we crushed Florida all 4 quarters. We ran, we threw, we blocked, we tackled…we whipped that Florida ass up and down the field! We showed the entire country what Alabama Football is all about.

For the past few weeks all I have wanted Alabama to do was just get through the regular season undefeated. I knew if we could get to the SEC Championship game that we were going to win. I have never felt more confident going into a game than I did yesterday. I don’t know what it was, but I just knew we were not going to let Florida beat us again. We had unfinished business, and we were pissed about how our season ended last year. This year we would not be denied our SEC Championship from Tebow again. I have never anticipated a game more than this one. All week long I could not concentrate on anything besides this game. This was the game of the decade – #1 verses #2…playing for all the marbles. The atmosphere inside and outside the Georgia Dome was just awesome! We had a blast tailgating with friends and random Tide fans, and most of all throwing darts at my friend Bill’s "Tebow" dart board – it was very entertaining and here is a picture so you know why.

I never wanted this game to end. Watching us just man handle the high powered Florida offense, and score points with ease on their #1 ranked defense was outstanding. If they don’t give the Heisman Trophy to Mark Ingram, than it is truly rigged. He just ran for 113 yards against Florida, and had 76 receiving yards…end of discussion…hand over the Heisman! Incredible performance by Mark…just incredible.

There were so many great things to take away from this game, that I could sit here and write all night, but I won’t, because I am tired and need to go to bed. McElroy was awesome – he played his best game yet. The offensive line was just outstanding – they gave McElroy the time he needed, and blew open holes for our running backs. Great job by a group of players who never get enough credit!! Our defense was ridiculous good, as usual. They never really even gave Florida or Tebow a chance to do anything…the game plan was perfect! Florida had about 4 decent plays the entire game – that’s it. My hats off the Coach Saban and his staff for putting together this game plan…it was one for the ages!

We are in the national championship game…can you believe it? I have watched the replay of the game last night, and the BCS bowl shows today, and I still cannot believe we are headed to play for our 13th national title! It has been a long 17 years since we last had this opportunity. All day long it has slowly soaked in…we are actually playing for the title – I am fired up beyond belief. Huge shout out to my wife for dealing with me last night on the phone in a loud Georgia Dome blabbing out directions to book flights for Pasadena. I know she could barely hear me, and had kids running around screaming back at home, but she got it done! Thank you Jenn…thank you for allowing me to be the huge Tide fan that I am!!!

Again, there are so many things I could talk about, like Tebow crying, comments about cheesy Gator fans, etc…but I am just plain wore out! I know you are all on cloud nine like me, so let’s all enjoy the moment. The Tide is high…we are SEC Champs, and headed to play Texas in the National Championship…it’s all good!

Until next post…Roll Tide my friends…Roll Tide!!!!
